What we do
Nurturing resilient organisations for a dynamic world
We live in volatile times. To thrive, businesses need to respond to change quickly and cost-efficiently. Having a proportion of your head office as contingent employees allows you to scale your workforce to meet market demands, project requirements or seasonal needs – all while reducing costs and minimising risk.

What are the benefits of a contingent workforce?
You can tap into specialised skills for short-term projects or add experienced talent to your team to meet increased demand. When the project is over or demand decreases, you can quickly reduce your contingent teams as you have no long-term contractual liabilities. This mitigates the risk and cost of adding to your permanent headcount, such as recruitment fees, benefits, pensions, and redundancy payments.
With an extensive database of potential contingent employees, we can help you react quickly to immediate needs or fast-approaching deadlines. Many of our candidates are experienced professionals who can hit the ground running, requiring less onboarding and training time than traditional recruits.

What we deliver
Our talent acquisition team will liaise directly with your line managers to establish a clear brief for the resourcing needed. They then create a job profile, manage the promotion of vacancies, and create a CV shortlist, including right-to-work and reference checking.
Our Account Managers then interview this shortlist to ensure potential candidates align with client values and ethos before 3-5 of the most appropriate candidates are put forward for selection. Candidates are presented with their desired salary, which is either met or not. Once they are chosen for a role, no further negotiation is expected.
Once an individual is employed as part of your contingent workforce, we handle all aspects of their HR management, including onboarding, probation, payroll services, benefits, insurance, appraisals and reviews, PIPs, and disciplinaries. We also fund their attendance at social events, training, and team-building activities.
Each contingent employee is covered by a separate secondee agreement between you and us. You can terminate this agreement anytime, effectively ending the relationship with the employee.
Why choose us?
We have significant experience working at scale with enterprise-level organisations, having collaborated with one of the world’s foremost automotive brands for over two decades. During that time, we have resourced and managed thousands of contingent employees across all business functions within their UK head office.
You will benefit from a dedicated Account Manager and HR professionals regularly visiting your site. This helps to forge stronger working relationships and ensures frictionless and regular communication. This face-to-face contact deepens our team’s understanding of your business and allows them to offer expedient and proactive responses to potential issues, mitigating negative impacts or maximising opportunities.

Our remuneration is based on a percentage margin of total payroll costs. You will receive a monthly invoice or invoices depending on how you want the fees broken down.
No. All day-to-day legal fees, insurance payments, IT costs, employee taxes, social events, team-building activities, training, and benefits are all included.
Your contingent employees will work like your full-time employees, on-site at your head office, remote or hybrid. Your dedicated Account Manager and HR personnel will visit your site regularly to check in with your remote employees and participate in face-to-face update and review meetings with relevant managers. The frequency and duration of their visits will depend on the size of your contingent workforce.
We have established and proven enterprise-grade IT solutions for payroll, expense claims, and other HR functions. All systems are accessible from a PC, tablet, or mobile device and are included in the package.
Emergency resources can be provided in a matter of days. The usual resourcing timescale for an individual role is three to four weeks from briefing. If we undertake a TUPE transfer, the lead time will vary on the number of employees, but it can take three to six months.
Your contract with TLP People includes a 12-month notice period. However, relationships with individual contingent employees can be terminated with immediate effect.
